Sporicidal products: enhanced disinfection of surfaces, floors and medical devices

Sporicidal products are designed to inactivate microbial spores, which are particularly resistant forms of certain microorganisms. In medical, hospital or medico-social settings, they play an essential role in enhanced disinfection protocols, particularly for surfaces, floors, equipment and medical devices exposed to a high risk of infection.

Spores can persist in the environment and resist certain conventional disinfection procedures. The use of an appropriate sporicidal disinfectant helps to reinforce the prevention of cross-contamination and secure sensitive areas: operating theatres, intensive care units, endoscopy rooms, at-risk units, patient rooms, corridors, critical surfaces and shared equipment.

The choice of a sporicidal product must take into account its spectrum of efficacy, contact time, compatibility with materials, ease of use and claimed standards.
